How to Reverse Estrogen Dominance Naturally

By Haley Robbins

Almost all of us suffer from estrogen dominance on some level. While perimenopausal women are most at risk, men and children are not immune. Constant exposure to xenohormone chemicals disrupts our delicate hormone balance. The result is high estrogen levels and depleted progesterone.

While conventional medicine offers drugs to regulate hormones, many women seek options on how to reverse estrogen dominance naturally.

It does take more time to treat your body using natural remedies. But the payoff is well worth it. Holistic treatments help the body heal itself so it can produce hormones all on its own. You enjoy more health, energy and vitality as a result.

How to Reverse Estrogen Dominance Naturally

To reverse the effects of estrogen dominance a holistic approach is needed. Take these 4 steps to alleviate symptoms:

Step #1: Eliminate the Source(s)

First and foremost, you want to reduce your exposure to the xenohormone chemicals making you sick. Purge any toxic cleaners, plastics, cookware and personal care products from your home. Consider purchasing a good quality water filter if you don't have one already. Besides possibly containing heavy metals, our water supply is often contaminated with endocrine disrupting chemicals.

But one of the biggest sources of xenohormones is the food we eat.

Conventionally raised dairy and meat are the worst offenders so steer clear of those. Fruits and veggies are sprayed with hormone disrupting toxins and a source of xenohormones as well. Eating organic is always your best bet. But some of our produce is far more toxic than others. Check the Environmental Workers Group website for their list of most contaminated produce.

Step #2: Detox

If you suffer from severe estrogen dominance symptoms, then doing a full liver detox is a good idea.

You can also help your body detox with some simple daily strategies.Epsom salt baths and drinking lemon water first thing in the morning and right before bed at night helps cleanse the body of toxins. Exercising and sweating on a regular basis is your body's own way to detoxify.

Step #3: Manage Your Stress

Xenohormone exposure is only one contributor to estrogen dominance. Stress also plays a huge role. Constant exposure to stress increases cortisol in the body, which in turn raises estrogen and decreases progesterone.

Find ways to effectively manage your stress. Meditation, yoga and other forms of exercise are great options. Sometimes just a good laugh or time out with friends can work wonders to lift your mood.

Step #4: Boost Progesterone Levels

One of the best ways to boost progesterone levels is by eating right.

Include plenty of fruits and veggies in your diet as well as organic, grass-fed meat. Good quality supplements like Vitamins A and B6 also help. Certain herbs like Chasteberry can work wonders to increase progesterone in the body as well.

In my eBook, "Feel Like YOU Again," I give natural remedies to reverse estrogen dominance and ease perimenopause symptoms. I also reveal the full list of foods, vitamins and herbs that boost progesterone levels so you can enjoy more health, energy and vitality.

6 Easy Ways to Fight Menstrual Cramps

By
Crystal D. Ruffin, MD

Ever wondered why you get bad period cramps and your friends don’t? Period cramps are involuntary muscle contractions that occur in the uterus during menstruation. If your uterine contractions are strong, the uterus may press against blood vessels and deprive the uterus of blood and oxygen. The reduced flow of blood and oxygen causes cramping.

Some women experience menstrual cramps so painful that they are unable to continue with daily activities. The medical term for severe cramps during a period is dysmenorrhea. If you’re under the age of 30, smoke, or have never given birth, you may be at higher risk for dysmenorrhea.

Fortunately, dysmenorrhea can be minimized. Prepare for your period and reduce painful menstrual cramps by following these six helpful tips:

1. Draw a Hot Bath – Menstrual cramps occur in the lower abdomen, pelvis or back. Using a heating pad or hot water bottle on these areas can help ease pain and discomfort. Additionally, a hot bath is a great way to relieve stress and loosen tense muscles.

2. Hit the Gym – It might be the last thing you feel like doing, but exercise can actually help with cramps. The right type of exercise is a great way to relax your muscles and reduce menstrual pain. Brisk walking, swimming, yoga and light aerobics are low-impact forms of exercise that can help relieve discomfort and also provide an endorphin rush.

3. Try These Over-The-Counter Medicines – If heating pads and exercise do not help diminish cramps, relief may be found with over-the-counter pain medication. Options like ibuprofen and acetaminophen are readily accessible and are proven to reduce period pain.

4. Ask Your OBGYN About Birth Control – If over-the-counter medication does not work, birth control may be the answer. Birth control that contains estrogen and progestin helps regulate menstrual periods and subsequently decrease menstrual cramps.  It’s important to note that while most women have few problems taking birth control, some do experience side effects. Find the birth control that’s right for you by asking your health care provider.

5. Give Acupressure A Try – Also known as pressure point therapy, acupressure is the method of applying force to specific points on the body. Acupressure for menstrual pain is most beneficial when used on the abdomen, back and legs. If you’re interested in trying acupressure, here’s an easy method to follow:
  • Place your hands on your pubic bone
  • Move your hands a half-inch to each side
  • Apply pressure with your index finger for up to one minute
  • Repeat

6. Eat Anti-Inflammatory Foods – As discussed earlier in this blog, muscle contractions in the uterus play a role in menstrual cramps. If your diet is packed with anti-inflammatory foods, this may help decrease painful cramps. Here are a few of the best foods you can consume during your time of the month:
  • Ginger
  • Green Tea
  • Blueberries
  • Tomatoes
  • Avocados
  • Spinach
  • Whole Grains
  • Lentils

When to See a Doctor?
If your menstrual cramps are affecting your daily routine or last more than 3 days, you should see your health care clinician. If possible, try to keep track of your symptoms including when they start/end and how severe they are. This will help your clinician make an accurate diagnosis and recommend the best treatment plan for you.

Tips for Getting Rid of Cellulite Naturally

By L R Lindsay

If you're like most women, you start stressing about cellulite sometime in the spring or right before a winter vacation. That's because cellulite usually hides in places that are out of plain site most of the time - until bathing suit season, that is. Cellulite most often forms on the back of the legs and the buttocks, so until those areas are actually threatened with public exposure, it's easy to pretend it doesn't exist. If you're facing one of those occasions, it's probably time to start thinking about addressing the problem areas you'd like to work on. One way to address cellulite is with laser surgery, but most women prefer a less invasive approach. If you're among them and are interested in getting rid of cellulite naturally, pay close attention to the following tips.

Exercise Your Problem Areas

There's no doubt that this can be a long road filled with lots of manual labor, but it's really the best method for ridding yourself of those nasty dimples. When you exercise your problem areas, you're not just getting rid of cellulite; you're replacing it with muscle, which is the ideal situation since muscle is firm and smooth. You'll be stronger, healthier and you'll look better in a bikini. To address lower body cellulite, do six reps of eight lunges and squats every morning. These exercises will work the back of your thighs and buttocks, bringing you closer to getting rid of cellulite every day.

Avoid Cellulite-Enhancing Foods

The first step in getting rid of cellulite naturally is to stop eating the foods that cause the issue in the first place. That means saying no to foods like pizza and sweet desserts. Flour, sugar, and foods high in carbohydrates contribute to cellulite more than most people realize. A poor diet coupled with a sedentary lifestyle is a recipe for cellulite. If you're serious about ridding your body of cellulite and keeping it off for good, dietary changes are an absolute must. Otherwise, even if you're successful at removing those unsightly dimples, they'll just come back again and again.

Get Your Fill of Vitamin C

Instead of just nixing the cellulite-enhancing foods, replace them with cellulite-busing foods like oranges, grapefruits, and Brussels sprouts. These are all rich in vitamin C, which helps prevent collagen breakdown. When your collagen stays in place, you don't have to worry as much about getting rid of cellulite. Your skin will be naturally more supple and smooth. Vitamins A, B-complex, and E have also been shown to be particularly effective against cellulite, so don't forget your one-a-day tablet! Looking for lotions that are rich in these vitamins is also recommended for fighting the problem externally.

Drink More Water

This is by far the easiest thing you can do to fight fat - and you can do it right now! When your skin is hydrated, it is naturally plumper. That means if you're getting your 8 glasses a day, cellulite will actually be less visible. It might still be there, but it'll be hidden by your supple, healthy skin. However, getting rid of cellulite permanently doesn't happen overnight. Drinking more water is a short-term solution to busting cellulite, but so long as you keep it up, it will be less pronounced than if you were not properly hydrated. If no other action is taken, the condition will eventually worsen regardless of water intake and you will no longer be able to address it using temporary tricks. For long-term solutions, you'll want to add exercise and a healthful diet to your hydration regimen.

Getting rid of cellulite naturally doesn't have to mean a sweat lodge and fervent nightly prayer sessions. Remember that any activities that help increase blood circulation, increase metabolism, develop muscle, or boost lymphatic drainage are great ways to reduce the occurrence of cellulite in your body. Go for a walk with a friend, do those lunges, get enough water and vitamins, and getting rid of cellulite might not be as hard as you used to think.

How to Increase Your Breast Size Using Natural Methods

By Teresa Tackett

It's an age old question - how to increase your breast size. Many women want the results without risking dangerous implant surgery. The good news? It is possible. In fact, if more women knew just how easy it really is to achieve the full, voluptuous look they want, they wouldn't be resorting to breast implants.

There are many reasons for wanting to enhance the size of your breasts. Many women simply feel inadequate, and want to increase their self confidence. Others want to balance out their body, and some simply want to look sexy. Whatever the reason, there are natural methods that work and are very effective.

Here are a few tips on how you can increase your breast size. By combining these methods, you can achieve optimum results!

1. Exercise - While exercise doesn't actually add size, it will certainly firm and lift so that you achieve the appearance of larger breasts. You can also gain more cleavage.
2. Massage - Certain special massage techniques can increase blood flow to your breast tissue, which will add fullness. While this won't increase your bra size by 2 or 3 cups, it will definitely help add more fullness and roundness.
3. Herbal supplements - Years ago, supplements really didn't work so well. Today, the special blends that are available have been clinically and scientifically studied, and are proven to work. Some work better than others, depending on the ingredients used and how they are mixed.

There you have it. By using some of the methods described above, you can increase your breast size by a very measurable amount. Still skeptical about herbal supplements? Here is a little information on how they work.

Certain ingredients contained in herbal supplements work together in your body to form phytoestrogen. This is similar to the natural estrogen present in a womans body. How does this work? These phytoestrogens target the breast tissue and mammary glands, resulting in breast growth similar to that experienced in puberty.

The most effective ingredients must be used in the right amounts for the supplement to have the most effect. If you choose the best brand and use according to directions, you can see an increase of 2 or more cup sizes in a six month period!

I hope this information has helped you understand how to increase your breast size using natural methods. There are many supplements available on the market, so make sure you do your research to help you choose the best. In my opinion, Breast Actives is the best breast enhancement product available.

The Facts of Tubal Ligation Reversal

By Naomi West

Most women will use rubbers or the birth control tablet to keep from having children at a young age or having anymore after two or three. Still, there are a great deal of women who want something that is more trustworthy and that will not step-up their chances for a good deal of health troubles. Instead of using the pill or the shot they will go through the tubal ligation surgery.

Unfortunately over half of the women who have this surgery will change their minds after a few years. It may be that they have decided to have kids or that the surgery itself stimulated a health trouble and need to be reversed in order to stop it.

Tubal ligation reversal is a major operation that will take between two to three hours. The operating surgeon will put the patient under general anesthesia. Once they are completely under, the operating surgeon will make an surgical incision and mend the fallopian tubes so that they will be functioning once again. To do this the physician will unclamp, reattach, or remove any device that is blocking the tubes. If they are too short than they will bind an implant to them.

When the operation is completed the patient will be required to stay in the hospital between one and five nights. They will keep an eye on how you are feeling and decide if there were any troubles from it. When they are sure everything went good you will be released. Remember that though the patient may be at home they will have to take things slow.

It might still take around four to six weeks for the patient to entirely recover from the tubal ligation reversal surgery. There still may be a risk of side effects and any hard labor could tear out the stitches or induce bleeding and infection.

Acne During Menopause - Easy Solutions

By Nathalie Fiset

A change of life - that's what menopause is. It is the hallmark of changes that would lead to the actual menopausal event (that is the last menstrual bleeding of a woman) and the subsequent years after. Menopause then is the period of life in women when they have approached the stage of fertility loss, thus they would no longer be able to conceive after they have bled their last.

Apart from the loss of monthly menstruation, a woman in this stage will also experience a lot of changes which are usually hormonal imbalances. Women produce hormones called progesterone and estrogen while men have their own androgen. While these hormones could be found in various levels between both and women, estrogen and progesterone are still considered as the main hormones of the females. Since these hormones have their individual and vital functions for the development of women (most active during puberty and pregnancy), gradual loss of may mean gradual changes in the body. And during menopausal stage, the hormonal imbalances caused by declined production of the ovaries which will soon shut down would create various changes in the human body which include hot flashes, mood swings and menopausal acne or adult female acne.

The production of the female adult acne, like many other physical changes, is caused by hormones. But as we have said earlier, women during menopause are likely to have deficiency on the progesterone and estrogen. But since they continuously produce male sex hormones on small basis, several functions that are characterized with this hormone would still continue mature. Androgens, the male sex hormone, are responsible for muscular development, for stimulating the hair follicles and for the production of the skin oil or the sebum. The latter is the main culprit for the excessive development f the acne on adult female skin.

Aside from oil production testosterone also affects the manner by which the skin disposes its dead cells. There is a high possibility then that these cells are trapped in the hair follicles and the pores along with the excess oil that have been produced. The accumulation of dirt on the outer layer of the skin plus the mixture of oil and dead skin cells in the pores will trigger the immune system to send its white blood ells to prevent the inflammation. But since all these components would e trapped in the pores, the white blood cells along with the oil and the dirt would get trapped inside the pores. Thus, producing inflamed red bumps or acne.

This cosmetic problem is very distressing among menopausal women. But since the problem lies with the deficient production of female sex hormones, the usual treatment used in these cases is the hormone-replacement therapy. This treatment uses anti-androgen progestin and estrogen to counter the excessive production of oil and the loss of many functions that are associated with progesterone and estrogen.

But aside from this major treatment, there are other easy solutions that a woman can use to counteract the production of acne. These include the following: Maintenance of good skin, due to your lost of elasticity in your, you now have to attend to your skin more often to maintain your complexion. You could also apply non-comedogenic topical solutions or creams. Comedon is simply the medical term for blackheads and whiteheads, so non-comedogenic means solutions that would not stimulate the breakout of acne.

Skin cleansers which are soap-free are also good for your skin. It is also good not to use soaps with high moisturizer content as this may aggravated the present skin problems. The use of astringent must also be minimized. Although this can aid the skin to remove the excessive oil production, the benefits are only short-term which might also lead to irritation. Abrasive cleansing of the skin must be prevented as this may irritate the blackhead and whiteheads and the developing acne.

Regular sunbathing must also be minimized. While some women have noticed improved changes on their acne after sunbathing, too much exposure in the sun would likely lead to more grave consequences.

Lastly, another great solution for acne removal is simply by maintaining good diet and regular consumption of fluids. Diet and fluids may not have direct effect on acne these could result to far healthier skin which is crucial during the menopausal stage.
