Anti Aging Skin Care - Do You Know What to Look For and What to Avoid?

By Elizabeth Ruby

Anti aging skin care is crucial to keeping our skin looking nice as we enter our golden years. I don't know of many people who have wrinkle free, smooth skin without using some kind of skin care products on their skin.

If a person has not spent much time in the sun he or she has less problems than those of us who are outdoors people. The sun UV rays are very damaging to our delicate skin. Even pollution can have a hey day with our complexions.

When you are searching for anti aging skin care products the best ones to go with our ones that formulas that consist of substances form nature. The man made synthetic versions aren't as effective, plus they can be downright dangerous.

Many chemicals are toxic to the body. What you rub onto your skin will get into your blood stream. F that wasn't the case birth control pills patches stuck on the skin wouldn't work, nor would anti smoking patches. The skin can carry things into your blood stream just like a pill that you've swallowed, or food you eat or liquids you drink.

One leading compound in skin care products that is dangerous is parabens. It is used as a preservative, but while it may preserve the cream or lotion it is in form turning bad, it may not act as favorable to your health.

There is controversy surrounding this substance. The debate is does it cause breast cancer. In scientific studies parabens are founding samples of cancerous tumors of the breast.

Not all studies are so sure that this is the cause of cancer, but since it can mimic estrogen it leads many to believe it can be one of the culprits. Someone might tell you parabens are found naturally in the blueberry shrub, but unfortunately the parabens used in skin care are synthetic, and don't have the antimicrobial agents that the ones occurring natural have.

More studies are being done, and some conscientious manufacturers are taking this product out of their anti aging skin care, but if your company hasn't joined this group yet, go find yourself another product that has natural vitamin E as a pervasive just to be safe.

Other natural ingredients to look for in anti aging skin care are listed below:

  • Avocado oil is deeply hydrating to leave your skin soft and smooth.
  • Babassu, a light natural wax, soothes your skin and has been proven to work well for eczema, itchy, dry, and inflamed skin.
  • Shea butter contains natural moisturizers that are virtually identical to the moisturizers the sebaceous glands in our skin produces. It also contains important vitamins and phyto-nutrients required to heal the skin.
  • Maracuja is rich in linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid, which makes it a great natural emollient.
  • Witch hazel is a natural ingredient that helps reduce redness of skin and inflammation while it helps soothe cracked and blistered skin, and helps with eczema and psoriasis.

Now that you've learned to avoid parabens and other dangerous chemicals, you need to look for some natural substances for anti aging skin care. Only you can make the correct choices for your health.
